Shakira

Shakira was born in February the 2nd in 1977. She was born in Barranquilla, Colombia.

When Shakira was 11 years old participated in a show called Buscando Artista Infantil. She won this show for three straight years.

When Shakira was 14 years old she moved to Bogota and released her first album. It was called ''Magia'' but only sold a thousand units.

At the age of 16 she released a second album, which she edited by herself. It was another failure so Shakira took a break from music to finish her studies.

In 1995 Shakira release her first official album: Pies descalzos. This album was the trigger of her career as a singer. It sold more than 500 millions of copYS. Inside and outside of Colombia.

She created a foundation in order to help children in the poverty in Colombia and also around poor countries. It is called Fundación Pies Descalzos.

In 2001 Shakira released a bilingual album called: Laundry Service. In this album there are songs in Spanish and their version in English.

In 2006 she was awarded by the ONU. She won this because of her humanitarian actions and because of her foundation.

In the Mundial of 2010 Shakira was chosen as the singer of the oficial song of the event. The song called ''Waka waka (This time for Africa'' became a worldwide success.

She is married with Gerard Pique since 2011. They have two children: Milan and Sasha.
