Girl Shy was the first rom-com, which was first showing in 1924. The cast included Harold Lolyd and Jobyna Ralston. The movie was written by Sam Taylor, Tim Whelan and Ted Wilde. It was directed by Fred C. Newmeyer and Taylor. This film was the first to combine comedy and romance genres into one which has heavily influenced the rest of the film and established the 'Rom-Com' genre as an individual genre which has had a massive impact on film since the 1920's.
